Sauna

A few months before we bought this house I went to the public pool with my friend. After swimming we went and sat in the sauna. While we were sitting in there together I thought to myself, " How cool would it be to have a Sauna in you house?" I'm an AZ girl. So, I'm always freezing cold up here in Oregon. I thought a Sauna would be the perfect way to stay warm. Well, fast forward 2 months and BAM...I'm living in a new house with an indoor Sauna!!! How did that happen?? I just love it!!

One day we will update the tile and shower head in there.

But, I love the blue jetted tub. It's my color!!

The sauna really comes in handy when the kids are done swimming and want to warm up.

And then we can bathe the kids and send them off to bed. It's the perfect set up!!

Getting rid of ugly...

Here's a little bit of the ugly we have removed from the house!!

I think all the cabin stuff was the worst. I had to take them down the first day we were in the house.

Gold door knobs make me cringe.

We are slowly fixing this place up.

New House

Here is the outside of our new house.

 Front view:

This is my crew!

We have solar heating on our roof that heats up this amazing swimming pool in our backyard!!!

Last summer this pool literally saved my life!! We bought the house in June so we couldn't have planned it any better. We had lots of fun pool parties. And it gave the kids something to do every day so that I didn't have to entertain them. All of the kids were soooo tan by the time school started.

We also have a great play area in the back. Perfect place for a BBQ.

We have a basketball court out back. It's epic!!

We have two great deck areas.

And a nice ramp leading from the front to the back.

And this area in the back with be a fire pit and garden someday.

We just love the yard and all the space we have outdoors!

Piano Remodel

Someone was giving away a paino. When I first saw the picture of it I was a little turned off by it. Then I noticed the amazing design across the front of the paino. And it was then that I thought, "I bet I could paint the paino and make it look vintage cool." I sent the picture to my husband and ask him if he wanted it. He was not thrilled about it. He said it probably had lots of problems because it was old. I begged him to just go look at it with me. So, after work we ran over and checked it out. We both decided we wanted it. There were a few broken keys and a few keys that didn't work.

Once we got it to our house JD went to work on it. He fixed all the keys. The paino had a great sound to it. We all fell in love with it.

A few weeks later we started painting it in our garage. Painting it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Here is the beautiful design on the front that sold me on the paino.

Here is a picture of it before and after. Such a difference!!

And here's how the piano looks in our house. I love it!!

And here are some more pictures of the paino taken in our garage after we painted it.

See how yucky the keys were??

Well, that inspired us to replace them. That was so hard and sooo time consuming! It took us HOURS upon HOURS!! But, the end result was so worth it.

We had to pry off all the old tops. Then we had to glue on the new tops. Then we had to file down all the sides to make them fit properly. It was quite the project. We tried to make it romantic though :-)

Here's the piano after we sanded it all down.

We had to tear the whole thing down to sand it and paint it. Luckily I'm married to an amazing man who can put things back together.

If you've never been brave enough to do this to your paino...do it!!! It's SO worth it!! It's really rewarding!!

Chair #1

My friend gave me 4 chairs. She was moving and couldn't take them with her. I love them, so much. They were cute to begin with. But, then I #kayleafied them!! Now, they look fresh and beautiful. Here is chair #1. All it took was some paint and a little fabric. Reupholstering furniture is so fun and so easy!!

Quick Crafts

I whipped up these cute crafts in a jiffy. My hubby cut the wood for me. I painted the wood and then used a stencil to put the designs on. Glitter is my new favorite thing! I just painted the heart with paint and then sprinkled the glitter over the wet paint. So fun!

New Found Skillz

Hello!

So, I never knew I was a crafy gal, until recently. It all started when my husband and I bought our first house. I discovered that if I didn't like something, I could change it. So, I started replacing all the gold chandeliers, gold door knobs, ect. Then, I discovered paint. I love paint!! I started updating furniture, painting cupboards, making wall decorations, and updating whole rooms. I love seeing a room transform. It's like magic!! I fixed up our whole house and almost had it how I wanted it. Then, we decided to move, of course! Crazy! Our house sold in one day, to the first person who walked through it. That's when I knew I had found my hidden talent!Home Decorating. The next house we bought was an older home from the 1960's. We bought it knowing we would have to fix it up and make it what we wanted. But we were excited for the challenge.  It was VERY outdated and parts of the house looked like a log cabin. But, we saw the potential. We bought it in June of 2014. By the end of 2014 we had most of the updates done. There are just a few rooms left. We have made good progress. In my future posts I'll be posting all the projects we have done so far and the ones we will continue to work on. And I'll be posting some crafty projects I make. I may even sell some of the projects. So, come check back and see what I've got going on! If you have any questions about my projects, feel free to ask! Thanks!
