Master Bedroom Remodel

Oh, the master bedroom...I could say so much about this room. I one word. NASTY. The red carpet was sooo gross. As soon as we bought the house we ordered new carpet. But, it took a few months to have it ordered and installed. I never once stepped on the carpet barefoot. I was afraid I would get a disease. Ha ha.

The oak trim was nasty. The fireplace was nasty. The oak gun cabinet was nasty. The blinds were nasty.

This was the first room we worked on.

Here is the room before...

Fireplace

Gun cabinet

Nasty red carpet

These blinds were sooo bad!! This is the only thing they wanted to do. It would take JD and I about 30 minutes each night to try to get them all the way down on each side. Such a pain!! I was sooo glad to get rid of them.

All the room in the house needed new blinds. So, we bought all the rooms these nice white ones. So much better!! Now just need to get rid of the oak trim. That's this weekends project.

JD hanging up the TV on the fireplace.

Our room looked like a disaster for quite awhile. We didn't want to set up our bed because we were waiting for the new carpet. So, everything was just kind of laying around.

We decided to paint the fireplace and the oak cabinets before the carpet arrives so that we didn't have to worry about spilling any paint on the new carpet.

It was a HUGE project. We ran out of paint halfway through and had to run and buy more. The paint spray gun used the paint up a lot faster than a roller brush.

Poor JD was covered in paint. The spray gun made paint particles float around the room. Most of it landed on him. I had a good laugh :-)

We painted all the walls in the room. We added one accent wall. We used my favorite color...teal. You'll see I use this color all over my house. I {heart} it!!

Here's the accent wall all done.

And here's the room mostly done. We still need to do the trim and the door.

I love my vanity!! My dad bought it for me for my High School graduation. I painted it white. It's my favorite.

We installed a fan and two beautiful lights.

I love having a couch in our room!! Feels like our own little apartment.

We plan to insert an electric fireplace soon. Can't wait for that.

The gun cabinets look better white. They had gold knobs on them. But, I spray painted them teal and they look vintage cool now!! I'm so smart.

Well, that's a tour of the master bedroom. It feels kind of like paradise.

Kitchen Remodel

Here is our kitchen remodel. It was SO dark and gloomy before. And the appliances were old and yucky.

Old Appliances...

     Installed a new light fixture...

We installed a a range hood. It didn't have one before so JD had to cut the cupboards apart in order to get it in. This also turned into a major project.

We removed the old microwave. The new microwave was a lot bigger so JD had to cut and sand down the hole in order to put the new one in. It was a major project. JD got covered with dust!

The New microwave looks so much better!!

We installed a new faucet. The old one was SOOO nasty and wouldn't even turn off.

The sink was dreadful!! It was ugly, scratched up, and outdated. This was one project we couldn't do ourselves. The granite counter had to be cut in order to install a new one. So, we had a contractor come do this project. And boy are we glad we did. It didn't look fun.

This was how it looked during the sink install.

The old sink is out!

And the new sink is in!! I LOVE it!!! It's huge and fits a million dishes in it.

We painted all the wall, all the trim, and all the cupboards. It was a HUGE and LONG process. It felt a bit like torture. But, man...it's beautiful now!!!  I'm sort of in love with it. Serious.

Awesome, right??
